Co-sponsored by UC Merced and mFino (a Silicon Valley-based financial technology innovator), the Center for Fintech Innovation was founded to help financial leaders, faculty, and students keep up with the latest technologies in banking and financial transactions.
CFI is a membership network where financial leaders from traditional banks, neobanks or challengers, and businesses come together with faculty and students to share best practices in digital transformation stratgies and fintech. Members get access to symposia on specific topics related to fintech and virtual mini-lectures known as FINtalks as well as special events hosted throughout the year.
The crowning event is the Fintech Learning Lab for student teams to design and test innovative solutions to fintech challenges and present their findings to members panels for each quarter. The winning team is awarded a prize for creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial savvy.
